Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the RiskNote service operated by VER&IT AB, org.nr 556985-1206, Nygatan 71, 462 32 Vänersborg, Sweden ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using RiskNote, you agree to these Terms.
The Service
RiskNote is an AI-powered risk management application that enables users to create risk assessments, receive AI-generated risk suggestions, build risk registers, visualise risks on a 5×5 matrix, and export professional PDF reports. The service is provided as a cloud-based SaaS product accessible at risknote.io and via mobile applications for iOS and Android.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years of age to use RiskNote. By using the service, you represent that you meet this requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation.
Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate registration information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorised use. One person or legal entity per account.
Free Trial & Subscriptions
Free trial: New accounts receive a 7-day free trial with full access. No payment method required.
After trial: A paid subscription is required for new risk assessments or AI analyses. Existing data remains accessible in read-only mode.
Billing: Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. Web via Stripe; mobile via Apple App Store or Google Play. Prices in USD, subject to applicable taxes (including VAT).
Cancellation: Cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the current billing period.
Refunds: Not provided for used subscription periods, except as required by applicable consumer protection laws (see Section 6).
Right of Withdrawal (Ångerrätt)
If you are a consumer within the EU/EEA, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date your paid subscription begins (i.e., after any free trial period ends), in accordance with the Swedish Distance Contracts Act (Lag (2005:59) om distansavtal och avtal utanför affärslokaler).
How to withdraw: You can exercise your right of withdrawal directly in the RiskNote application via the "Cancel & request refund" button on the Account page, which is available during the 14-day withdrawal period. Alternatively, you may notify us by email to support@risknote.io or by using the standard withdrawal form below.
Effect: Your subscription will be cancelled immediately. We reimburse the applicable amount without undue delay, and no later than 14 days from notification, using the same payment method used for the original transaction.
Proportionate deduction: If you have used RiskNote during the withdrawal period, a proportionate amount for the days of service used will be deducted from the refund. The deduction is calculated as: (daily cost × days used). The remaining amount is refunded.
Free trial: The 7-day free trial does not trigger the withdrawal period. No payment is collected during the trial, so there is nothing to withdraw from. The 14-day withdrawal period begins when your first paid subscription period starts.
Mobile subscriptions: If you subscribed through Apple App Store or Google Play, the right of withdrawal and refunds are governed by the respective platform's refund policies. Please contact Apple or Google directly to request a refund for in-app purchases.
Standard Withdrawal Form
You may use this form to withdraw, but it is not required. Using the in-app button on the Account page is the fastest way to process your withdrawal.

Consumer Rights
Nothing in these Terms limits your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws.
Conformity: We provide RiskNote in conformity with its description. If the service does not conform, you have the right to conformity, proportionate price reduction, or contract termination with refund for significant defects. The statutory complaint window is 3 years (Konsumentköplagen, SFS 2022:260).
Data retrieval: Upon termination, you may export your content in PDF and/or JSON format, free of charge, for 30 days following termination (Digital Content Directive, Art. 16).
Service modifications: If changes negatively impact your access, we inform you 30 days in advance. You may terminate free of charge within 30 days of notification.
Your Content
You retain all rights to the content you create in RiskNote. You grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display your content solely to provide the service. We do not claim ownership of your data. You may export your data at any time via PDF export or by requesting JSON export from support.
You are responsible for ensuring that your content does not violate any applicable laws or third-party rights.
AI-Generated Content
RiskNote uses artificial intelligence (Anthropic's Claude API) to generate risk suggestions. See our Privacy Policy, Section 4 for details on AI data processing.
AI-generated content is a decision-support tool and should not be treated as professional advice. You are solely responsible for reviewing and validating suggestions.

Service Availability
We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice where practicable. We are not liable for downtime caused by factors outside our reasonable control (see Section 17).
Data Protection
We process personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the GDPR. Your data is hosted in the EU (Stockholm, Sweden) on ISO 27001-certified infrastructure.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VER&IT AB's total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including mandatory consumer protection rights.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold VER&IT AB harmless from third-party claims arising from your content, your use of the service in violation of these Terms, or your violation of applicable law or third-party rights. This section does not apply to consumers to the extent prohibited by applicable consumer protection law.
Intellectual Property
RiskNote, including its design, code, brand, and documentation, is the intellectual property of VER&IT AB. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks, logos, or brand features except as needed to use the service. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Termination
You may terminate your account at any time via account settings or by contacting support@risknote.io. We may suspend or terminate your account for material violations, with notice where practicable.
Upon termination, you may export your data within 30 days (see Section 6). Sections 8, 12, 13, 14, 19, and this survival clause continue after termination.
Mobile Application
Platform terms: Use of the mobile app is also subject to Apple Media Services Terms or Google Play Terms. In case of conflict, these Terms prevail to the extent permitted.
App store subscriptions: Billing and refunds for app store purchases are managed by the respective platform. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled 24+ hours before period end. Manage in device settings. Free trial portions are forfeited upon purchase.
Apple acknowledgment: These Terms are between you and VER&IT AB only, not Apple. Apple has no maintenance, support, or warranty obligations for the app. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms.
Force Majeure
Neither party is liable for failure or delay caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, pandemics, government orders, internet infrastructure failures, cyberattacks, or third-party provider failures.
Changes to These Terms
Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect. If a change negatively impacts your use, you may terminate free of charge within 30 days. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by Swedish law. Disputes shall be resolved by the general courts of Sweden, with Gothenburg District Court (Göteborgs tingsrätt) as first instance.
Alternative dispute resolution
Consumers may submit complaints to ARN (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden) at arn.se for free, impartial review. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
General Provisions
Entire agreement: These Terms + our Privacy Policy = the complete agreement, superseding prior agreements.
Severability: If any provision is held unenforceable, remaining provisions continue in full force.
Waiver: Failure to enforce a provision does not waive that right.
Assignment: You may not assign your account without our consent. We may assign in connection with a merger or acquisition, with notice.
Notices: Legal notices sent to your account email are deemed received when sent. Notices to us: support@risknote.io.
