Share the assessment, not Excel attachments
Send a link instead of an attachment. Give colleagues or clients view or edit permission. Everyone sees the same version, updates are live. Planned for V1.1 (June 2026).
Shared risks require shared tools
Risk management is rarely a solo job. The consultant shares with the client. The CISO shares with leadership. The PM shares with the steering committee. In Excel, that means attachments, version confusion, and ”is this the latest?”.
RiskNote replaces attachments with links. Every risk note has a unique URL, and you invite people with a specific permission level. No downloads, no sync pain, no PII in the wrong inbox.
What sharing gives you
View or edit permission
View: the person sees the matrix, register, and report. Edit: can add risks, adjust values, and run AI. Role-based delegation is coming in V2.0.
One shared source of truth
Nobody should ask ”do we have the latest?”. When you change something, everyone invited sees the change the next time they open the note.
No email attachments
Excel files with risk data shouldn't circulate unencrypted in email. Sharing via link plus auth keeps data where it belongs.
Audit trail included
Every change is logged with user, time, and field. The auditor can see who made what adjustment — no digging through version history.
Client-ready for consultants
Give the client read access to a specific risk note. When the engagement ends, transfer full ownership and let them continue without you.
How sharing works (planned V1.1)
1. Open the risk note and click ”Share”
Enter the email of the person you want to invite and pick view or edit.
2. They receive a link and a sign-in flow
If the recipient doesn't have a RiskNote account, they create a free one. Sign-in via email or OAuth (Google, Microsoft, Apple).
3. Revoke or change permission any time
Engagement ends or roles change — pull the permission from the share view. Access disappears immediately.
Pro shares with 1, Business unlimited
Pro lets you share each risk note with 1 person. Business is unlimited plus task delegation (V2.0). Starter doesn't include sharing.
Sharing FAQ
When does sharing ship?
Planned for V1.1 (June 2026). Today you can export a PDF and send to the recipient — link-based sharing is the next major release.
Can I share with external people without them creating an account?
For security and audit traceability the recipient must be signed in. They can create a free RiskNote account in 30 seconds, and you can see who made what change.
What happens to sharing if my subscription ends?
Downgrading to Starter removes sharing. Already-shared notes become read-only (not editable) to invited users during a 14-day grace period.
Be ready for V1.1
Sharing lands in June 2026. Start your account today and get access the day it's live.
