Multilingual

11 languages, including the AI

The UI comes in English, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Danish, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, and Chinese. The AI follows the language you wrote the risk note in — not your user setting.

Risk management is local even when the standard is global

ISO 31000 is the same standard everywhere. But risk terminology, regulatory frameworks, and board culture are local. A Swedish municipality talks about ”skollagen”; a German org references ”Datenschutz-Grundverordnung”; a Finnish one uses ”tietosuoja-asetus”.

RiskNote meets you in your language. UI, report templates, AI suggestions, and validation all follow the same language. Write in Swedish, get answers in Swedish. Write in Arabic, get Arabic. Detection runs on the content, not your profile.

What multilingual means here

  • 11 languages in the UI

English, Swedish, Norwegian, Finnish, Danish, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic (RTL), and Chinese. Switch from the header menu with no reload.

  • AI suggestions in the right language

Language detection reads the risk note's name and description and picks the language automatically. No setting, no configuration.

  • Reports in whatever language you need

The PDF export follows the UI language. Sending a risk note to a German client? Export in German. Headings through AI disclosure all translate correctly.

  • RTL support for Arabic

The Arabic UI setting flips the whole layout right-to-left. Matrix, register, and report all render correctly for RTL reading.

  • Nordic nuances

Swedish and Danish differ in terminology (”riskbedömning” vs ”risikobedømmelse”). RiskNote uses local terminology, not a generic ”Nordic” blend.

How language handling works in practice

  • 1. Pick a UI language once

From the language switcher in the header. The choice is saved to your profile and follows you across devices.

  • 2. Create risk notes in any language

You can keep notes in several languages in the same account. Each note's content drives the AI response separately.

  • 3. Export in the recipient's language

Sending to a German client? Switch UI language to German before exporting the PDF. Everything in the report follows the selected language.

Language FAQ

Is my content translated automatically?

No. Switching UI language doesn't change the content you've written. Your risks stay in the language you wrote them in. UI elements (menus, buttons, headings) translate, but your content is respected.

Will you add more languages?

Prioritisation is demand-driven. If your language is missing and you've got ten or more people asking — reach out. Dutch and Polish are short-term candidates.

Which language does RiskNote use before I'm signed in?

Browser language is the first guess. If you prefer something else, pick it manually — RiskNote remembers the choice in localStorage and syncs to your profile on sign-in.
